U. SA. dominates Olympics ,RM 5? ft-t Ib fists mfg to For the first time in over half a century, the summer OL YM- PICS were held in the United States. Colleges all over Califor- nia offered their gyms, stadiums, and fields for the need of the Olympians. America had the largest number of medals by winning 774 medal total. America had immense competition with West Germany who had the second largest medal count. The United States might ha ve had more competition if Russia had not boycotted, with the fear of the Gymnasts being killed and the fear of them defecting on their own will. The opening and closing of the games had spectacular visual and Audio effects, yet the Olympic games was said to be filled with too much propaganda. Olympians celebrate success.
