Dmess Shorter skirts and longer hair turned up at registration this year. Dress code changes were approved during a school board meeting on Aug. 18. As a result, boys didn't have to cut their summer- grown hair and sideburns, and girls were allowed to wear blue jeans. Scheduling was done by computer for the first time which disappointed some students who didn't get to pick their own teachers. Student ID cards were issued on an honor system basis instead of passes. Pictures for ID cards were made last year and issued at registration. As registration came to an end. 2,682 students were tallied. To carry the extra load, 11 new teachers were added to the Burges faculty. Because the fresh- man class load was being phased out to make Burges a 10-12th grade school, only about 350 frosh enrolled. For the first time in many years, Burges did not have the largest enrollment in the city schools. ,J f 55555
