Because her kindness, understanding, patience, and consideration has had no end, . . . Because she has been an excellent example of un- selfishness and inspiration to us, has tried to prepare us for college, and has been so persistent in her teach- ing, And, finally, because by her everlasting help and advice she has been largely re- sponsible for the publica- tion of this year'8 and last year's annuals and has been very active in extra-cur- ricular activities. WE, the staff of the 1957 WAGRUB, do hereby dedicate this annual to our teacher, advisor, and friend, MRS. IRENE CLARK School Hoard E. T. Batson, Jr., David V. Harrell, Dr. W. H. And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the will which says to them: Hold on ; If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all msn count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, YOURS is the Earth and everything that's in it, And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son. --Rudyard Kipling Senior Class Officers Left to right Frances Hardison Pat Ives......... A Pitch for Recreation It's spring again! It's time for birds, bees, and little boys on baseball diamonds again. Boys need a place to play. Come to bat for your town. Help it acquire the parks, pools, and play- grounds it needs. You'll enjoy camping and picnic areas, golf courses, and tennis courts it should have. Libraries, museums, and auditoriums are needed too! Recreational facilities will be an important factor to industry considering vour, town for a possible site. Recreation is a partner in good health. It's a social force that checks juvenile delinquency. It molds good character. Don't let your town strike out in its drive for a better recreational program.
