GRADUATE MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF 1968 The end of the school year 1967-1968 will very likely be the end of an era for Burgard as it was originally conceived. As with progressive business, modernization, of equipment, mer- gers of related units and a building program to keep pace with changing needs are part of a new pattern for Vocational Education in Buffalo. Our Printing curriculum will be terminated here in June 1968 and will be a segment of a broad Graphic Arts Program embodying our course of study plus industrial design, art layout and similar Graphic Arts subdivisions, all to be consolidated at the new McKinley Vocational High School. The curriculum planning committee of the Buffalo Board of Education have deemed it economically unwise to enlarge our present facilities so that it is entirely likely that in time a new school will be the future home of our Aviation and Automobile departments. It is the current thinking of our curriculum planners that Burgard will continue to service the needs of our community as conditions warrant. We hope that you have profited by your stay here. If your teachers have contributed to the molding of your character to take your proper place in society, if you have attained the academic and vocational skills to permit you to have a full satisfying life socially and econ- omically, then we have done our job. From our experience, it is safe to say that you will meet disappointments along the way of life that will tend to discourage you. Youth, however, is elastic and from these disappoint- ments you will unquestionably bound back and your resolute character thus strengthened will be better able to withstand and overcome future problems you must inevitably meet. My personal best wishes go with you. Come back to visit and tell us of your progress in life. We hope Burgard Will Always have cordial associations in your hearts. AN UNFORGETTABLE MAN We the students at Burgard can and will never forget the moments we shared with Mr. Roberts. From the moment we entered Burgard each of us shared a numerous happy moment brought on by that great guy William Roberts. When Mr. Roberts passed away he took a portion of Burgard with him. As you can see by the pictures he was quite an active person and hardly anything went on Without his many ideas to make it better. All we can say is that may GOD BLESSH Mr. Roberts since Burgard will never be the same without him. 5
