Q at v L. To R. D. Loomis-Vice-President, E. Serwacki-President, D. Hopkins-Secretary Senior Sidelight We entered Burgard in 1964 in the month of September, just to find out how different Burgard was compared to the Grammar school we had been used to in the previous years. We took the title of Freshman, and being the underclassmen of the school, we made it through the first forty weeks. After an exciting vacation we returned to take the role of Sophomores. During this year we went on to more exciting and advanced learning. Many of us got to know our teachers better, and could look for them as friends as well as teachers. The following year each of us realized the good friends we had and that we could look upon each other when help was needed. For many of us our Junior year flew by and we now reigned as Seniors. The fourth year, being our final, was the most exciting of them all. Many of us took part in assembly programs and activities to make this school a better one for our future student body. The Seniors, now being young adults, have so many to thank that it is impossible to thank everybody, so thatis all we can say is Thank You, Burgard. 21

Archie Rousselle Assistant Principal Innovations and change are as inevitable as the air we breathe. This year of 1967-1968 has brought dramatic changes to our school. The Printing Department, to be relocated at the new McKinley High School, provided the most dramatic and momentus change to Burgard in many years. While our Aviation and Automobile Departments will be expanded, our Library will be relocated and enriched, the prime concern in preparation of those students who will transfer to a new faculty and carry the Burgard Banner afield. We have made every effort to inspire each student to strive and develop characteristics of good leadership and sound moral fibers and desirable academic trusts that we of Burgard may be well received and proud of their accomplishments. 20
