CLASS OFFICERS CLASS HISTORY Let us take tnme to revlew the four years that are now at thelr cllmax Our l1fe wlthm the walls of Burgard has offered a host of memorues to be held dear m our hearts Upon enterlng Burgard Vocatlonal Hlgh School ln September of 1956 we were bewlldered and tlmld among our new surroundmgs We were the low men on the totem pole the babes of hlgh school com monly known as Freshmen We were presented w1th a newly lI'lSIltLlICd honors program provrdlng for the betterment of the more capable students We were the proud hosts to the Western New York Interscholastlc Press Assoclatlon Conference and for the first tlme we found our own yearbook belng prmted commercially The f1rst few days of our Sophomore year were spent 1n the usual greetmg of the Freshmen Now we felt we were truly part of the school Mldyear brought sadness as we wltnessed the retlrement of our pr1n clpal Mr Wm B Kamprath an outstandmg leader m vocatlonal educatlon slnce 1910 A pleasant note was added when our school was completely repamted To colnclde wlth the new and eye pleasmg splendor a better dress program was maugurated For efforts 1n this field Burgard rece1ved w1de recogmtron Our Jumor year was spent adyustmg to the system of our new pr1nc1pa1 Mr Joseph F Crotty As a true Irlshman Mr Crotty entered our school rn the St Pat r1ck s Day Parade We were the only Buffalo publnc hrgh school to part1c1pate and we were awarded a trophy for 7th place Many new faces were found among the faculty replacmg those who retlred after many long years of SCIVICC Mr Thomas Chad Mr Lloyd Txlley and Mr Albert Endres Who can ever forget May 21 1960 the mght of our memorated our class the fiftneth graduatmg class from th1s school Tragedy however knocked some of the 1oy of our Semor year wlth the death of our frrend and teacher Mr Brmkworth We have expenenced a great transformatron rn 4 years and Burgard IS st1l1 on 1ts way as one of the finest vocatlonal schools m the na t1on We proudly add our golden llnk to the Cham of Burgard graduatlng classes and humbly thank our Alma Mater bid her farewell and wnsh her success ln her next 50 years ' I ' . - , I 1 - - , n - - .
