PRINTING an instrument of American progress The young man who takes up printing aligns himself with one of the world's leading indus- tries. lt is a constructive industry. It is one upon which every other business, every pro- fession, every trade, is in some measure de- pendent. It is a business of which to be proud and one giving opportunity to those engaged in it to have a hand in every branch ot the world's great commercial and social schemes. lt is a business that demands character, backbone, and intelligence ii one is to achieve even moderate success. The young man, worthy enough to practice the art of printing, will think of his occupation as a noble one, because its history includes oppression, and persecution. the story of a long struggle against tyranny,
