XfVKYY'i5fiVfN' flflfi 'NIVPTX KNKNYTTXTS 'ifi A I'.7W?i s7iWl 76 Y , , W SENIOR CLASS MEMOIRS September 1945 to June 1949 Enrollment Freshman enrollment - September to June - 1945 - '46 - nine Sophomore enrollment - September to May - 1946 - '47 - eight enrollment - September to May - 1947 - '48 - nine Senior enrollment - September to June - 1948 - '49 - nine Junior In the fall of '45, ten green Freshmen began their high school career entering enthusiastically into the activities incident to the first year. with the exception of Caryl Hoover, all had completed the eighth grade together - Helen Erickson, Gary Vaughn, Clark Heuer, Burton Jackson, Byron Yohn, Junior Wicht, Earl Lewis Vaughn, Marian Willhite, and Marilyn Heuer. Gary was elected president, Burton, vice-president, Caryl, secretaryg Byron, treasurerg Junior, reporterg Miss Bradley, the Home Ee instructor, was our Sponsor. Early in September, we, like all Freshmen everywhere, fell heir to the rigors of the traditional Sophomore initiation, which culminated in a delightful party offered by our worthy Wupper classmen' as a peace offering. During the year, Earl Lewis Vaughn withdrew from school reducing our ranks to nine This number was further reduced during our Sophomore year by an un fortunate accident which took the life of Byron Yohn Marian Will hite withdrew to enter Rock Falls High School, but Wendell Klingon berg entered from Walnut, so at the close of our school year, we num bered eight Helen Erickson was president, Wendell Klingenberg, vice president, Burton Jackson, secretary, Junior Wicht, treasurer, Caryl Hoover, reporter Miss Bradley was again our Sponsor At the beginning of our Junior year, Marilyn Lang from New Bedford joined our class, raising our enrollment to nine Helen Erickson was again elected president, Burton Jackson, vice president, Gary Vaughn, secretary, Marilyn Lang, treasurer, Mrs Ewalt, the C0mmerclal in structor, was chosen Sponsor With Mr Keough as Director, our class most successfully staged WGood Gracious Grandman All nine Juniors returned for the last year at Bureau At the first class meeting on September 18, Gary Vaughn was elected president, Clark Heuer, vice president, Helen Erickson, secretary, Caryl Hoover, treasurer Mr Keough was chosen Class Sponsor, and in November, un der his direction, we produced a mystery thriller, The Ghost House Out of players comprising the W1ldcat's basketball teams, five were Seniors and their contributions to this sport helped make possible the victories won during the season Clark Heuer, Burton Jackson, and Wendell Klingenberg played guard, Gary Vaughn forward, and Junior Wicht, center Caryl Hoover was elected Editor in chief of the Beuro Burton Jack son, Business Manager, Clark Heuer, Sports Editor, Junior Wicht, tivities Editor, Gary Vaughn, Snap shot Editor, and Helen Erickson Treasurer Mr Keough was the Sponsor, Miss Perring, the proof read er, and the Senior typing class, assisted by Wilde Foushee, did the lay out work .. . .. .. ,. .. . .Y -.- . 1, a . fr' , V. - . 1 X -4 X ., 'f :'M -Trl:- Wi , '.mMfmmmwwmvn1-mwm'mnwmmwmlA4mfmmm1- . Gary Vaughn as William Harrison, the last of an old generation, comes South to take possession of his inheritance, a soooky old man- sion about which weird tales had been woven by Wllda Foushee, Mother Blake. Seems Wi1liam's father had long ado incurred the enmity of an old negro witch woman who plzced a curse on the Harrison family and many had died mysteriously.
