The history of Lockheed Aircraft Corpora- tion dates back to T912 when it was located in Hollywood. ln February of i928 Allan Lockheed moved his little airplane factory and fifty employees from Hollywood into a two-story brick ranch house in Burbank. To- day Lockheed still plays a leading role in the science of aviation. ln if-755 the citizens of Burbank approved a ten-year Capital Improvement Program. The City's new Fire Headquarters Build- ing and two additional branch Fire Stations are now in full operation, providing the com- munity with facilities comparable to the fin- est in the nation. This year the Police Department is sched- and modern jail facilities. ' The new T8-hole Debell Golf Course went into full operation this year. The Debell Course was made in the rugged mountains of Burbank and has become a new and en- joyable scenic wonder in California. The Olive Avenue and Magnolia Boule- vard bridges were opened to traffic this year. Later in the year the Burbank Boulevard cross- ing will be completed. When it is completed, the program of eliminating the City's three most dangerous and time-consuming traffic intersections will be finished. Today the City of Burbank is still a for- ward-looking community providing its citi- zens with the greatest service possible. I 1 D .Al I 4 I
