A Tour of The universiTy, lunch in The cafe- Teria, and a visiT To ExposiTion Park compleTed The ouT- ing. Two semi-annual breakTasTs were held honoring The seniors eligible To receive Their file membership pins. To raise money, cokes were sold aT all The home baskeTball games. The Camera Club, under The guidance of Miss Mac- Dougall, oTTicially changed iTs name To The Press Club, The members now include only advanced phoTographers who are TiTTh and sixTh period phoTography sTudenTs. MeeTings are held once each monTh. The purpose oT The club is To serve The school by covering all school evenTs. This year's acTiviTies included field Trips To The Orife TiTh Park ObservaTory and Elysian Park. '4t'1, The purpose ot the Y clubs is to create, maintain, and extend high standards ot Christian living through' out the home, school, and community. Fultilling this purpose, the l-lifY and Tri-l-li-Y clubs at BHS meet once a week, not only for business meetings, but also tor work nights, educational programs, and social evenings, These clubs participate in many worthwhile pro- iects. During the past year records were collected and holiday favors and scrapbooks were made tor hospitals and sanitariums. For Christmas, food boxes were packed tor needy tamilies, The Leaders l-li-Y collected over S200 tor the l-,flarch of Dimes when they laid adhesive tape the length ot a block, which was covered with money contributed by Burbank shoppers. Jackie Rudnk, fall semester president, and Mary Jordan, spring semester president, led the active group in their plans for the rooting section for football and basketball games. This experimental sectior, participated in only by rooters wearing white shirts and co-operating in the yells, was quite a success in boosting gamertirne enthusiasm. The group is sponf sored by Mrs. Davenport. The forth members of the Theta Epsilons, Burbank's newly organized home economics club, are students who v M X W J have had not less than one year of foods, clothing, or household science. These girls are interested in learning ntore about the art of hornernaking. Their afternoon meetings were devoted to business, but banquets and potluck dinners were held during evenings. The group's biggest activ'ty was the fund rais- ing candy sale. Myrna Williants Worth served as fall semester president and Sandy Brown was elected spring semester president.
