Stephens. The 'Z' Club, under the supervision of Mrs. Dvvire, dean of girls, is sponsored by the Zonta Club, an international service club ol executive business and professional vvomen. The purpose of the Z Club is to further the girls' interest in vacations and protessions. Interesting, as vvell as entertaining, speakers are provided tar the nternbers, who are SO girls accepted an the basis ot tirst carne, first served. Once a rnonth, night meetings are held jointly with Burroughs, The Key Club, under the guidance ot Mr, Peterson, is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, one at Burbanks international service clubs. The purpose at the club is to give vocational guidance to its 40 members, devel- op leadership, and give service to the school and cam- ntunity. Career Day brings opportunities for BHS students to hear speakers in tields in which they have expressed an interest. Over 75 outstanding rnen and women ot various professions and vocations are asked to speak. '4t'1, The purpose ot the Y clubs is to create, maintain, and extend high standards ot Christian living through' out the home, school, and community. Fultilling this purpose, the l-lifY and Tri-l-li-Y clubs at BHS meet once a week, not only for business meetings, but also tor work nights, educational programs, and social evenings, These clubs participate in many worthwhile pro- iects. During the past year records were collected and holiday favors and scrapbooks were made tor hospitals and sanitariums. For Christmas, food boxes were packed tor needy tamilies, The Leaders l-li-Y collected over S200 tor the l-,flarch of Dimes when they laid adhesive tape the length ot a block, which was covered with money contributed by Burbank shoppers.
