Presided over by the ASB president, the Exec- utive Council is recognized os the bronch of student government thot corries out the provisions of the constitution. The council cilso cicts os supervisor of expenditures, collector of revenue, ond co-ordincitor of committee octivities. Voting members ofthe council include the elect' ed ASB officers, committee choirmen, iudges of the Supreme Court, Girls' ond Boys' Leogue presidents, Senior ond Junior closs presidents, ond presidents of Lettermon's Club ond GAA. Those on the non-voting list czre the heod song ond yell Ieoders, ond pres- idents of other clubs or orgonizdtions. A.mong other duties, the council cipproved the semester's budget, sent representotives to the Foothill Leogue Forum, ond oppointed Deon Werner, IQA, os Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, with Wolter Pelelc, IQB, ond Ken Bohn, IIA, os iudges. One of the moior decisions brought forth by the council this semester wos the provision to elect song ond yell Ieoders in the mid-term ond extend their term of office through boslcetboll seoson of the fol- lowing yeor. This would give the pepsters o full sem- ester of troining before beginning their duties. Putting good democrotic government into effect, the council thoroughly discussed the problem of off- compus sororities ond froternities. Student Leaders Conduct Consisting of the tour ASB officers, committee chairmen, Supreme Court, presidents of school clubs and organizations, and advised by ASB ad- visor, Mr. Traynor, the Executive Council plays a vital role in student body government. Bonni' Bray, i2-A, Dean Werner, I2-B, and Walter Pol- ek, ll-A, served on the Supreme Court. Heading the Winter Executive Council's ac- complishments was the sale of student body cards, costing 33.00 apiece. A new idea at BHS, these cards admitted the purchaser to all school athletic events free of charge. The council worked with the yearbook staff during the first Ceralbus cam- paign, selling over 800 books in two weeks. Other activities of the council included the approval of school club constitutions, approval of athletic awards, and the evaluation of assem- blies. The council also granted money to the So- cial Committee for supplying the school iulce box with popular records. Under the direction af Al- lana Crothers, the booster bus was again in aper- ation, carrying students ta and from all football games away from home.
