He also advises the ASB Publicity Committee. Mrs. Eisman is a sophomore and junior English teacher and a Girls' League advisor. Mr. Aitken, who has returned after a leave at absence, teaches Problems at Democracy and Senior Problems. Teaching Latin and sophomore English is Mrs. Merrill, who also finds time to advise the Girls' League and Latin Club. Besides being head math teacher, Mr. Traynor teaches Physics, advises the Executive and Leg- islative councils, and directs the Rifle Club activities, New at Burbank is Mr. Udvari, crafts and driver train- ing instructor. Problems ot Democracy and Senior Problems are the courses taught by Mr. Hier. Mr. Smith is a U.S. History and Civics teacher. A teacher of sophomore English exclusively is Mr. Leavitt. The new Drama and Speech teacher, Mr. Glick, directs the Senior Play, which is given each semester. Mr. Nesel teaches two absorbing but completely differ- ent subiects, Auto Service and Junior Varsity Baseball. Mechanical Drawing or Drafting is provided tor the boys by Mr. Nouguier, who returned after a two year's leave at absence. Our Curriculum Co-ordinator is Miss Chapin, who also teaches World History. Mr Bruckner keeps busy as a World History teach er and assistant football coach l-lead track coach and Life Science teacher are the duties claimed by Mr. Mc- Murry. Mr. Wiley, who is Varsity Football Coach also teaches Shop Math and Physical Education. Radio Math and Electrics are courses offered to the boys by Mr. Driscoll. Mr. Gummere, another teach- er, presides over the Wood Shop, Mr. Campbell, Book- keeping and School Finance teacher, is frequently seen around school carrying a tin box, which, unknown to many of us, sometimes contains school money. A new teacher on campus is Mrs, D'Agostino, who is an Algebra and Geometry teacher. Mrs. Gorney teaches Foods and Personal Grooming, and sponsors the Home Economics Club. Clothing and Homemaking are the subiects which Mrs. Banks teaches. She, too, is a Girls' League Advisor- Advising both the Ceralbus and Hi-Life staffs and teaching Journalism and Business English have kept Mr. Garapedian very busy on campus this year. Mrs. Utz- man is a Spanish teacher. The Biology and Life Science instructor is Mrs. Davenport, who also advises the new Pep Club. Miss Nager is an English and Spanish teach' er, and advises the Future Teachers of America. Mr, Peterson, fondly known as Pete , teaches World History and coaches our B basketball team. Mr. Brewer is a U. S- History teacher and head coach of our B football team. Easy to find around the campus because of his red hair is Mr. Jaffie, senior English teacher and Boys' League advisor. . i Actions Helping to liven up our school spirit at games this year has been Mr. Duarte, Orchestra, Instrumental Training, and World History teacher. He also sponsors the new Dance Band. Mr. Boggis, head of the Music Department, leads the ACappella and Girls' Choir and directs the annual spring operetta. Another Girls' League Advisor is Mrs. Carson, a iunior English teacher. Coaching varsity basketball is Mr. Lockwood, who is also a Physical Education instructor. Mr. Minasian trains the baseball team, teaches P.E., and is sponsor of the Letterman's Club. Very active in student affairs is Modern Dance and Physical Education teacher, Miss Wolfson. Besides the annual Dance Performance and heading Drill Team, she advises the Big B Club, Replacing Mrs. Adams is Miss Barnett, as Advanced Sports instructor. She also advises GAA. Miss Flatley is Beginning Sports teacher and sponsors the GAA. Mr. Fredricksen is the print shop teacher' The print- ing students under his guidance put out the Hi Life and the CERALBUS, student body cards, programs, and num- erous other forms. Teaching many future mechanics is our BHS Machine Shop teacher, Mr. Kofahl, Mr. Chilton, Vocational Auto Shop instructor, is kept busy explaining and demonstrating the complicated mechanisms of the car to his pupils. Mrs, Blackstone, Problems of Democracy and Sen- ior Problems teacher, and co-advisor of the Girls' League, is new this year. Physical Science, a course offered to all students, is taught by Mr. Gilman. Both Problems of Democracy and World History are taught by Mr. Brown.
