The lightweights this year were under the leadership of Maurice Wiley and Dick Minasian. The lightweights opened their season suffering a 6-0 defeat at the hands of the Beverly Hills' tricky lightweights. The Bev- erly tilt was followed by two successive tri- umphs over Verdugo Hills and Compton, 6-0 and 12-0 respectively. Opening the league the Bullpups were defeated by league champion, Glendale Blasters, I9-7. The Bulldogs started the season with a win over Pasadena and then settled down to a series of losses to Glendale, South Pasadena, and the powerful Hoover Squad. Although winning only one of their league meets, the Bulldogs, led by Louis Cardenas, flashy 880 man, fought valiantly for the remainder of the season. In their practice meets, the Bulldogs fared somewhat better, they defeated Cathedral and Montebello and were eked out by North Holly- wood.
