Subic Bay Ask any sailor about WESTPAC Liberty ports and probably the first place he ' ll mention will be Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines. With a variety of inexpensive goods to shop for, a warm tropical climate, a superb nightlife and some of the friendliest people anywhere, the Philippines is a highlight of any cruise. BUNKER HILL visited the Philippines several times this past year. In fact, it has almost become our home away from home. ABOVE: Mrs. Sisson, Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Kreitz enjoying themselves in one of the many bars in Olongapo City which is located just outside the main gate of Subic Bay Naval Base. Right: This picture almost says it all about the Philippines. A Jeepnee (the local mode of transportation) to get you where you want to go and as the sign says, a cold San Miguel beer to cool off the hot days is all you need to have a good time. i .
