But it takes dedi- cated people of all kinds with care and concern for others to make an institution like a school work smoothly. The staff of the Lancer feels that stu- dents at Bullock Creek are lucky. Perhaps it will take years to accept this concept, but it is hoped that in years to come the following pages will help to bring back memories of people, friends, and events | ---memories that are those of the luckiest people in the world. The year's highlight must have been the defensive team which never allowed more than two touchdowns per game in its conference games, Mike Parsons, Joe Buckey, and Jerry Stanford were selected to the all conference defensive team. Team honors went to David Batorf as most valuable defensive player, Jerry Stanford, most valuable back, and Joe Buckey, most valuable line-man. 36 Three Varsity Gridders Make All Conference LEFT: Mike Spitnale makes a tackle against Meridian. Mar- quardt connected on a fantastic 53 percent from the floor as he set new school re- cords in both points scored (422) and point average (24.8). This topped the records set by Jim Kovacevich back in 1965 of 410 points and 24.1 points per game. First year Coach Peter Injasoulian's squad began the season without having one man who had ever started a varsity game, but they managed to find them- selves in the thick of battle in nearly every game. Marquardt, the team's Most Valuable Player, was a unanimous selection to the All- Conference team while Jesse Myers and Roger McIntosh got an honorable mention. Morris, 502 East Pine River Road, was killed No - vember 3 when her bicycle was struck by a car on Dopp Road. Jonna was a Senior at Bullock Creek High School for only two short months. Prior to that she attended Regina High School. Though she was a member of the 1972 Senior class for only a short time, Jonna was quick to earn friends. She was liked and respected by both students and faculty. Jonna would have graduated near the top of her senior class. While attending Regina, Jonna was secretary of the Student Council and the Girl's Athletic Association. She was also president of her 4-H Club group. At the time of her death, she was a co-op student working part time at Northern Animal Clinic. She was also a member of St. Brigid's Catholic Church. In her memory a donation was collected from students at the school and added to a special donation from the senior class to be given to Harbour House. It is also in her memory that the staff of the Lancer dedicates this space, in the hope that she will be long re- membered by her fellow classmates, friends, and teachers. 131 ADVERTISING DOING BUSINESS WITHOUT ADVERTISING IS LIKE WINKING AT A GIRL IN THE DARK.
