The highlight of the 1970 forensic season was the qualifying of four students to com - pete in the state finals, Dale Beach (Oratory) and Mary Linton (Humorous reading) re- ceived firsts at Regionals to qualify. Jim Morgan (Radio News) was awarded a second, and Toni Jeffries (Serious Interpretative Reading) won a third. All four were also rated superior at the regional festival. Toni Jeffries received fifth place at the state finals, A second highlight was Melody Fales, third place finish in humorous reading at the Battle Creek Invitational. Mary Linton and Dale Beach display their plaques for first place wins in regionals. Jim Morgan, and Toni Jeffries (not pictured) placed second and third, respectively in their divisions.
