VARSITY DEBATERS Kim Parker, Jan Foote, Sue Peasley, Fred Brown. Resolved: That Congress should prohibit unilateral United States intervention in foreign coun- tries, The Lancer Debaters argued their way into the State Semi- Finals, for the fourth time in seven years, when they finished in a three way tie for seventh in the state. They compiled a total seasons record of 71 wins and 57 losses, many of the loss- es coming from Class A schools. They captured first place in the North Central league, second place in the CMU and the Mid- State novice leagues, and third in the Mid-State Varsity League. Fred Brown compiled a 21-9 personal record and was named top speaker in district compe- tition, thus qualifying for the Detroit Free Press scholarship contest.
