Remember how we laughed away the hours, And dreamed of all the great things we would do. Chorus Then the busy years went rushing by us. We lost our starry notions on the way. If by chance I'd see you in the tavern, We'd smile at one another and we'd say-- Chorus Just tonight I stood before the tavern. Nothing seemed the way it used to be. In the glass I saw a strange reflection. Was that lonely fellow really me? Chorus Through the door there came familiar laughter. I saw your face and heard you call my name. Oh my friends we're older but no wiser. For in our hearts the dreams are still the same. Chorus Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end, We'd sing and dance for ever and a day; We'd live the life we chose, We'd fight and never lose, For we were young and sure to have our way. La la la la la la La la la la la la Those were the days, Oh yes, those were the days. THOSE WERE THE DAYS Words and Music by Gene Raskin Tro-C Copyright 1968 Essex Music, Inc., New York, N.Y. A Meaningful Experience Young people of this community can be an influential force for a better quality of life. The Junior Achievement program affords us an opportunity to demon- strate the sincerity of our interest in their development. Bullock Creek students, like those pictured above, actively participate and in- volve themselves in a variety of roles in their J. A. Company. It gives them a better insight of business and how it functions. This is a meaningful experience for the students . . . and for the advisors from Dow who work with them. BILL GRIME’S FORD 1303 S. AN ACCENT ON YOUTH This is fast becoming a nation of young people. In fact, very shortly half the population of the United States will be under twenty- five. At Dow Corning, as with many other companies across the country, the younger generation is playing an important role in the com- pany’s activities. Why? Because there’s a lot of truth in that old saying about there being no substitute for experience -- and that’s exactly what young people are getting today so that they can grow into the responsible leaders we will look to for guidance in the years to come. Work-study programs are one way that young people are getting that experience. At Dow Corning, co-op students have jobs in laboratories, production, engineering and offices. Here are five co-op students from high schools and colleges in the Tri-City area who are working in Dow Corning’s laboratories. 165 DOW CORNING SMITH’S FLOWERS OF MIDLAND Flowers Gifts 2909 Ashman At Circle 631-0470 Flowers Wired Anywhere ART CLEANERS Two Locations to serve you 324 Ashman — Stadium Plaza Downtown — N.
