In her native country, Yugoslavia, community libraries were larger and more popular than the school libraries. Below: A leisurely chat about their native countries and Michigan customs provided hours of entertainment for Olivera, Henrik, and Per-Olof. EXCHANGE STUDENTS VISIT FROM FOUR ai Jorge Poblete came to Bullock Creek at the start of the second semester from Chile. He stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wyse and family of 2580 Stewart Road. He stated that he liked’ Bullock Creek because he didn't have to wear a tie to school as he did in Chile, and he could sleep on Saturdays here. Per -Olof Svenson was one of the three who came to Bullock Creek in the summer, to stay the entire year. He stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Slykhouse and family of 3080 East Gordonville Road. His home is located in Stockholm, Sweden. Per-Olof plans to enter the field of government after he finishes school. Henrik Kolstrup was one who came from Denmark in the summer to stay the year in the Midland Area. He lived with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Jackson and family of 1478 — = me: West Isabella Road. His father is a dentist in the ry Wega 3 small town of Juelsminde on the Eastern coast of Den- mark. His plans for the future were indefinite when he left. Olivera Trajkova was the third and final exchange student to arrive in the Bullock Creek area during the summer. She stayed with the family of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Herbert of 3147 Bullock Creek Drive. She liked the United States, but she s aid that the food was cooked a lot different here than in Yugoslavia, her home country. ere Right: Olivera became interested quite easily in the language labo- ratory since she has a wide background in languages.
