BASKETBALL Things looked good for the basketball season with live letter men returning to play varsity ball, but before the start of the season, we lost Carl Pullen to Harding High, and Pete Pippa, who left for personal reasons. Coach Piascik had only three experienced boys left: Jack Can- dito, Ed Brighindi, and Maury Watman. The team won three and lost sixteen. The victories came against the Alumni and Bassick High. The seniors on the squad who graduate in june are Manager Frank Gernat, john Antonini, and Joe Slopnick. The jV's, composed of freshmen and sophomores won three and lost fifteen. The three leading scorers of the basketball squad were Ed Brighindi, Maury Watman, and Jack Candito.
