TECH 14 HARDING 33 The Harding Presidents were just too much for our boys as they defeated us 33-14 before a large turnout. The high- light of the game came in the second period when Fred Kitko took a screen pass over the middle to ramble some V,-M,f, f if! Standing: 34 Ray Galya, 21 Doug Kent, 23 Frank Smith, 11 Bill Galvin, 20 Ken Philipps. 50 yards to score behind some beautiful down-field block- ing. Our last TD for the season was scored by Walt Cremin off-tackle, This brought the game to 19-14 before Harding clinched the victory in the final period. Our boys were game, but Harding was too strong. THE JV SEASON The Tech 1V's had a good season winning three, losing four, and tying one. Against Bassick, Galya, Smith, and O'Rourke hit the scoring column behind excellent blocking to win 19-0. A thrilling game took place in Westport as Staples eked out a 13-12 victor y. In a tie game I7-75 with Stratford, some of the finest football ability was exhibited by both teams, A short pass from Galya to Ritter accounted for Tech's only score. On the last play of the game, Frank Smith did some beautiful broken field running which almost resulted in victory. The winner's circle was again ours the following week when the jV's took an easy game from Central 19-0. Tech's other victory came against Milford 18-6 as a re- sult of crisp blocking and running attacks. Fairheld Prep, Harding, and Ludlowe proved to be too much for our boys and we lost 0-19, 0-13, and 13-19 respectively. Other outstanding performers for the jV's were Earl Cozzi, Ronald Weir, Billy Andricovich, johnny Edwards, joe Mucherino, Russ Clinton, Ed Dziekan, Roger Gabriel, Bill Csire, Carmine Munz, Tony Morlando, Al Strengowski, Bob Rinko, Doug Walker, Frank Huntley, Fran Grodis, Y -if 1 5 1 v A K VAIV f, 1 .1-..1..Qfl'- -1.
