I-Iannala all burldrng trades men Electrical work on the fabu lous structure designed by Cbarlcr Peet and Bob Red en was done by Andy Podletkz Larry Scbrernmer and Bzll Schwarz the next page I lard out a brg spread on a new night spot that was to open this week Among the main attractions that were to appear on opening nrght were s veral of my former classmates They are Gerry Mongrazn well known for hrs instrumental abrlrtres joe Petro pantomrne artist jzmrng Dad dana pop singer Rbeta Wzlbotte an excellent ball room dancer and La ajette Wbzte a tremendous gurtar player The article was written by Carolyn Madre who was handling the Clubs publrcrty Frnrshrng this page with several shorts and adver trsements I continued on to the next For a lead artrcle I used a story on the local machrnrsts unron that was celebrating an anniversary As I quickly a board member of the national unron was rnvrted to speak He and many other notables of the state rncludrng Ed Sebzller jolnn Noll Guy Petrary men that were opening another service station rn the crty The statron I read rn the copy was one of a large chain ovt ned by Al Tpodnzk and Ed jankowrky The latest one was designed by Rzcbard Eoanr and ,lorepb Srnarz The burldrng work was done by Bor den Brooks Don Holleran jolan Leu onrkz and Frank Kara A contractor jerre Antonznz had the contract The spectacular lighting effects were produced through the combined efforts of Lzonel Arrenaalt and Lou Lorzer What a corncrdence I thought that Al and Ed should have these learned men working on therr station design I placed a dance school advertisement at the bot tom of thrs page And as I read rt learned that Glorza Czrzllo was now conducting classes rn ballet tap and toe There were many ads for the program announce ment page Among them were those of Ken Kan were Tony jaeozzz joe Slopnzck Otto Patzelt and jack Merzaror all engrneers rn the electronics field Another ad that contained a name I recognrzed was that of Al Hanzrnar who was opening a branch store of hrs radro televrsron busrness Preparing myself for the nerve rackmg job of laying out the classified ads section of the paper I cleared everythmg else off my desk and lrt my prpe Then I picked up the advertising contracts and read through them Many famrlrar names were among them In the Parntrng and Decoratrng column Frank Gtrnat advertised hrs capable servrces Dare Karper and Mzke Sartno had an ad guar anteerng excellent carpentry work There were many other ads rn the carpentry lrstrng already done I rec ognrzed the names of Iorepb Kocbefko Herb Muell er and Don Keegan Bob Knapp and Ralf Bode eld were specralrsts rn cabinet making An ad rn the Masonry Work column was paid for by Bob Greblorkt as was another ad rn the used car column Ralpb Polzere and Al Scbnrrrnan also ad vertrsed bargains on used cars rn the same column Rzta Werner had an ad rn the Business Opportunr tres column She was retrrrng and wanted to sell her beauty shop Otto Veglzo wanted to sell one of hrs prrntrng plants as a step towards retirement And Marzo Gara alo was sellrng hrs service garage to enter the entertainment world In the Male Help Wanted column was an ad for a manager for one of several electrical reparr frrms owned by Bzll Wazkrnzr and Norm Brown according to an ad rn the Machrne and Tool Column joe Trede a popular name on the sports page was advertrsrng capably done electrical work rn the Serv rces Rendered column Also advertising were Steve Lzrcznrkg Paul Noreweb and Bob Penkoj rn search of busrness for therr pattern shop Followrng these ads was one concerning castrng work done by Dexter Young who worked closely wrth the Harlob Pattern Shop Frnrshrng the Classified Ads with a srgh of relref I approached what was to be the stock page I notrced a new name rn the lrstrngs and a Certificate of Incor poratron incorporating a machine shop owned by Jo Jepb Kozak jobn MacDonald Ronald Dubarl Iobn Kra czk Donald Radu zck Donald Roarzek and Mzebael Sweedo Lookrng over the market quotations I notrced sev eral had advanced among them the Lrba Bros Engr neerrng Frrm whrch had advanced due to the com pletron of several promrnent prolects among them a new bridge across Chesapeake Bay and also because of the polrtrcal campaigning of Carl Lrba the head of the firm Wrth the completion of this page I completed a large part of the publrcatron of our next rssue A feel ing of prrde engrossed me It was rndeed enriching to know that those people who had played a brg role rn my lrfe had returned after a great deal of accom plrshment for a curtarn call
