This year’s Volleyball team ended the 1983 season with a surprising 9-7 record and a bid for the State Tournament. It was a young team with only two returning Varsity players but hard work, dedication and teamwork proved to be the key to success. Strong performances by Sophomore Marie Sanchez and Senior co-captains and high scorers Anita Soucy and Barbra Reilly sparked the offense and they will be missed in the setting position next year. However, with the loss of only three Seniors, the team should be more experienced and stronger next year. Although the team was not in contention for C.D.C. honors this year, in the past 10 years of BHS Volleyball, teams under Coach Horrigan have won the City Series 8 times, the C.D.C. 3 out of 7 years and qualified for the State Tournament with winning seasons 7 out of 10 years. This is a record to be proud of. — Coach Debbie Horrigan 106 mst.’t ' «[ ' T f; x. c no Li ' , UUV.r Back Row, L-R: Coach Joe DiChaira, Patrick Hill, Gerado Ramos, Darcy Miller, Ivan Powell, Kevin Hayes Peter Simpson, Arthur Ellison, Asst.
