“has Hkfaay Like every other child who becomes sik years of age, we started to school. At that time we didn't know what we were getting into but it hasn't been so bad. We've had lots of good times, our little spats, times of sorrow, and then on test days, we begun to understand each other immensely. There were five Seniors that started here at dear old Bula in the first grade. They are Wanda Hall, Janet Vestal, Ralph George, Patsy Blackman, and Gerald Thompson. Janet Vestal left us in the third grade but she couldn't stand it and came back in the sixth. Gary Nichols wasn't far behind us and joined us in the second. Finally Patsy York came here in the seventh. We were growing by degrees when in the eighth we received two more. They are Edna Pool and Ruby Tidwell. After we entered high school we had some come and go but in the tenth grade Shirley Green joined us. We didn't get any more until we became Seniors and then Betty Lightfoot enrolled' at Bula and that made us the complete graduating class of 52 . We made it through the eight years of grade school, thanks to a few smart ones. But when we were eighth graders we were the outcast of the whole school, we thought, we were always too little to go places with the high school and too big to go with grade school. After we graduated from grammar school we became the green freshmen. But out of that class two freshmen get the honors of most popular girl and boy, Patsy York and Gerald Thompson. Our Sophomore year we were thrilled because we were to give our first play. The name of it was That's My Boy. We all thought it was a grand play. Janet Vestal also got Football Sweetheart that year. That was a great honor to our class, and Gerald Thompson and Wanda Hall received Best All Around honors, with Edna Pool getting the scholarship award. Then came our Junior year. We all looked forward to our play again this year. It was a howling success with the sponsorship of Mr. Dukes. The name was Comin' Round the Mountain. Ruby Tidwell also got the honor of best athlete that year, with Patsy Blackman getting scholorship. We came back to school on September 10, 1951, of our last year realizing what lay before us. We had the annual to make, but Mr. Dukes was still our sponsor. Patsy York was voted Football Sweetheart, Gary Nichols and Wanda Hall most popular boy and girl, Patsy Blackman and Ralph George were class favorites, Gary Nichols and Wanda Hall best athletes and Wanda Hall Basketball Queen. Edna Pool received scholarship award.
