Cast Will And Gestament We, the Senior Class of 1961, having obtained our final goal of grad- uation, wish to bequeath some ‘of our many talents to those behind us. And do publish and declare that this document to be our Last Will and Testament. SECTION I To Mr. Parker, our principal, we leave our appreciation for his guidance and patience through this, our Senior Year. To the faculty, we leave our appreciation for their love,understanding, and attempts to prepare us for life. SECTION II To the Junior Class we leave our ability to get an annual out on time. To the Sophomore Class, namely to girls, we leave the address of the Lonely Hearts Club. To the Freshman Class, we leave the joys and sorrows of having to go to Buie's Creek High School. SECTION III — , Roger Baker, will my romantic charms to Sammy Hall. Buddie Brown, will my ability to stand up on the ball court to Sher- man Currin. Carolyn Cooke, leave my ability to get along with my classmates, to Betty Burkot. I, Joe Davis, leave my uncanny and superior ability to make a 'D on conduct to all of the upcoming classes. Martha Dixon, leave my sympathy to the upcoming classes in hopes that they make it. , Marshall Johnson, will my love for Algebra to, Jo Ann. I, Maurice Johnson, will my abilitytoget along with the teachers to Linda Chappell. I, Sharon Jones, will my ability to get along with the Freshmen and Sopho- more girls to anyone who can do it and enjoy is as much as Ihave. I, Martha Savage, leave my ability to type to anyone who can type less than 25 words a minute and still pass. I, Ben Stewart, leave my short hair to Bennie Turlington. I, Frances Turlington, will my ability to talk more than anyone I know, to my cousin, Alice. I, Faye Upchurch, leave my guard spot on the basketball team to Joyce Newton. I, Janice Walker, leave my ability to graduate to Dudley Gill. I, Hugh Gregory, will my inelgibility to play ball to Dudley Gill. Class Prophecy As theClass of 1961 is gathered here tonight we find that many strange and wonderful things have happened since graduation, including the ful- fillment of the class prophecy of ten years ago, Roger Baker has officially changed his name to Rocky Lane. Buddie Brown is now State Wildlife Commis- sioner. : Carolyn Cook and Janice Walker are now liv- ing in a pent house in New York, still looking for a rich husband, not a cotton-picking farmer, Joe Davis is still at the Citadel trying to pass his last year R.O.T.C, Training. Martha Dixon is carrying on the family tradi- tion by getting a new Ford every year. Hugh Gregory is now owner of several large drag strips throughout the state. Marshall Johnsonis now Attorney General for the state of North Carolina. Maurice Johnson is now one of the biggest oil distributors in the state, Sharon Jones has at last found a way to really gain weight. : Martha Savage is now a secretary at Seymor Johnson Air Force Base, | Ben Stewart now has his own sports column inthe New's and Observer and we hear it is quite a success, Faye Upchurch is now one of the most long- lived airline hostess, maybe because she is al- ways the first to JUMP! Class History We, the Senior Class of 1961 enrolled in Buie's Creek School in 1949. We are very proud to say that at long last we have completedtwelve years of very hard work. Ten members of our class started in the first grade together. They were Buddie Brown, Ben Stewart, Mar- shall Johnson, Maurice Johnson, Roger Baker, Carolyn Cooke, Faye Upchurch, Frances Turlington, Martha Dixon, and Hugh Gregory. As we passedfrom year to year, we added new fri- ends and classmates. Sharon Jones cametous from Bunnlevel in the sec- ond grade. Janice and Gerald Walker transferred from Ben- haven to Buie's Creek in the fifth grade. Carolyn Cooke started withus in the first grade but moved to Coats in the fourth, and returned to us in the ninth complete her high school years at Buie's Creek High Martha Savage came to us from Wallace-Rose Hill last year. And Joe Davis, who finished his junior year at Need- ham Broughton in Raleigh has joined us this year to complete our class of 1961. Frances Turlington Historian
