eee Class Prophecy The end of my twelve years at Buie's Creek School has come. Soon I will be graduating with the rest of my classmates. There was so much excitement before our program tonight that I felt I must get away for a few minutes. I decided to take a walk down to the familiar playgrounds, There the air was cool and the stars were dimly visable in a hazy-blue sky. i I sat, so completely relaxed, watching one star, which seemed so bright. Suddenly, my star began to fall slowly. I thought, if you make a wish on a falling star it will come true. I closed my eyes and then I heard a voice. Your wish, my child, what will it be?'' There before me was a tiny old woman, Then, I replied, ''Let me see our class ten years from tonight. With a laugh, she placed a crystal ball in my hand and said, ''So be it done.'' As I looked curiously at the crystal ball, I could hardly believe my eyes. There I saw that Shirley Johnson has her own beauty shop, and is known for her attractive and original hair styling. LavernGaskinhas won top honors in the stock car races at Daytona Beach, Florida. Christine Stewart is now chauffeuring her favorite patients at High- smith Hospital around in her 1970 Buick, Stanley Weaver is now head architect of his own construction company. Sue Ross is living in Florida. Her Book, ''Love and Marriage, In 10 Easy Lessons,'' is one of the year's best sellers. Phillip Turlington is now a four star general in the Air Force, and has become one of the nation's heroes. Larry Jones has bought a200 acre farm and another new Ford. He's still unmarried, but girls, that tall, blond fellow is really an attraction. Jean Pearceis marriedtoalocal farmer and is living a quiet country life. Eddie Taylor is now serving time for non-support of his 10 kids. Ardythe Savage is now serving North Carolina's governor as personal secretary. Her typing skill is really paying off. Larry Currin is now raising cotton and Currin's on his one acre estate, D.C. Davisis now teaching Physical Education at Coats High School. Julia Lane seems quite happy in Newport with her gas station and diner, which specializes in ''Southern Cooking.!'! Larry Stewart is now a highway patrolman, and is getting paid for speeding up and down the highways. There is much talk of a Third World War since the Big Four: Jo Ann Matthews, Phyllis Turlington, Patsy Gregory, and Linda Denning have taken over the United Nations' Affairs. Wonder why there are so many new teachers at Buie's Creek School since Buddy Upchurchhas become Superintendent of Harnett County pub- lic schools? I suppose you wonder what the crystal ball holds for me. My, it looks interesting, but right now, as you can see, I'm too busy with the future of my classmates. The sky was bright and clear. I could faintly hear someone calling my name. Had I only been dreaming, or had the fantastic experience been real? I cannot say because, in my hand I still have a tiny crystal ball.
