THE CRUSADER Vol. 12 Buhler, Kansas, Tuesday, January 29, 1952 No. 9 Debaters Begin Busy Season Buhler Versus Haven In Practice Debate The Buhler debaters had their first taste of debating against op- ponents from other schools last Friday, Novemeber 16, when eight Haven debaters came to Buhler for four debates held in different class rooms during the second hour. The Buhler debaters are El- sie Enns. Bob Freeman, Jack Mil- i l ler, Richard Leffel, Carolyn Sie- ' mens, Joe LaFever, Hugh Grant I and Erma Buller. Mr. Siemens is their coach. The most au- Crusaders Crush Determined Dragons Winter Hits 27 Points For Top Scoring Honors The Buhler Crusaders trounced the Halstead Dragons to the tune of 60-41 on the Buhler court last Friday, December 14. Johnny Win- ter was high point man with a grand total of 27 points. The strong Dragon five got off to an early lead, but the Crusaders put out the fire and went ahead 18-12 by the end of the first quarter. The X Patrons Vote YESv The patrons of the Buhler Rural High School district voted yes by a margin of 208-91 for a 5220,- 000 bond issue on November 6, 1951. Because of this vote the high school will be given additional vo- cational agriculture shops, more classrooms, an increase in library space, and industrial art shops which will include room for wood- working, metal working, and draft- ing.
