Petersen FIRST SEMESTER CFFICERS Ffh:-: .Stanton CQQAA With many a happy thought about leaving school after four long years, and :t great many more dismal thoughts about leaving friends behind. the senior class of 1940 reminisces-They recall happy timers together . . . times when Chemistry Lab, was infested with those making-up experiments . . . Farther back. when Algebra was navigated with the study hall assistance of Miss Rudy. The Senior Class of 1940 entered high school in 1936 with Charley Wilson as president . . . During their freshman year they had one person on the debate team. one person representing them in yell-leading-three of the girls on basketball squad . . . Three in all-school play , . . John Rutherford and Alice Marie Taylor guided them through their second year , . . That same vear, members of the class participated in declamation. debate, football. and basketball . . . In their junior year they were led by Lillie Kodesh and Don Kroth . . . Presented as their class play, 'tHobgoblin House . . . Active in all clubs . , . Entered senior year as leaders of school . . . Elected Bill Babcock and James Juker as presidents . . . Activities. directed by Miss Rudy . . . Worked faithfully under Mr. Shively to produce the senior play June Mad . . . Outstanding in dramatics . . , Formed the Thespian Club . . . Presented the school with a Pep Band Show . . . Thirteen seniors on the National Honor Society roll . . .
