OFFICE OF THE PRESIDEN Dear Students: The years glide by quickly at college and soon tomorrow is yesterday, Change which is constantly taking place is recognized in ourselves and on our campus. We come to college to have our minds stretched that we may see another point of view, that we may liberate the best we have in the service of humanity and for our professional interests. You who are graduating represent the intellectual ferment which is felt as you participate now in your community activities and as you teach the children of today who represent the future of tomorrow. Let me wish you Godspeed. Z Paul G. Bulger '53 Q? ff 35 5 W DEANS Row I: C. LaMor+e, R. Whifford, V. Pra++. Row 2: M. Monroe, R. Augus+ine, J. Bar Tow, D. Womer, J. Dingeldey, F. Ray, L. Raps. W. Throughout the state there are over titty units ot this system, but this is not the extent ot our vast campus. Now the S.U.N.Y. not only covers New York State but it has established branches in Europe. This year some ot State's students were fortunate enough to spend a part ot the year in Siena, Italy. Presently this program is limited to Art majors, but it is hoped that the program will be ex- panded turther to include all departments on State's campus. lm 2 us-s..4Q X., 1-iff' W lv 2 4 A. Olsen, Editor Richard Russ, Business Manager Fellow Classmates: Upon the completion of the 1962 ELMS, it gives me great pleasure to give praise, where praise is due. The task of editing a college annual, such as our ELMS, is not a job for one person - the editor. It takes many hours of cooperative planning by many people. Without such people as Linda Roath, Ioan Kastenberg, Virginia Nussbaum, Lynn Carver, Dave Halter, and the entire editorial board and their helpers, this book would not have been possible. Being involved with State's yearbook for the first time, there were many procedures this editor had to learn. The editor was familiar with yearbook publication, but not with the manner in which State prepared their book. Without such people as Dr. Greenwood, our advisory George Geer, our printer: and A1 Sillato, our photographer: there would have been many more conspicuous mistakes . With these people helping with the publication of the ELMS, many mistakes were averted. The editorial board and the staff of the 1962 ELMS hope you, the student, will enjoy and appreciate all the man hours that have gone into the ELMS. It is also hoped that this book, 1962 ELMS , will serve as a lasting record of your year at State, 1961-1962. Sincerely yours , Henry Olsen Editor, 1962 ELMS I: LJ E
