Interest in your chosen field, music, began at an early age. You were known as a child prodigy by the time you were seven., ln 1937, you received a Bachelor of Music degree tromeOberlin Conserva- tory. Your master's certificate was awarded in 1938 at the State Conserva- tory of Music, Prague, Czechoslovakia. In 1943, Columbia University granted you a Master of Arts degree. Induction in the United States Army in 1943 did not stop your musical desires. While serving our country you participated in and organized con- certs, shows, and broadcasts. Participation in educational, cultural and musical associations has made you a prominent figure, both locally and nationally. You are recognized as organizer, musical director and conductor of Am- herst Symphony Orchestra. Buttalo Philharmonic has honored you by having you as guest conductor twenty-five times. ln your eleven years as Director of Instrumental Music at this college, you have become an outstanding Statesman. We will always remember your sincerity and devotion to Buffalo State. We will always remember the great spirit you have iniected into our campus.
