Because God has taken them to His eternal glory, we dedicate this 1957-58 BUFFALO yearbook to the memory of these people. MR. CHARLES SHREWSBERRY To accomplish the proper administration of a public school is by no means a mysterious process. Briefly, the elements necessary to the attainment of such a goal are hard work and tolerance - especially tolerance. Many of the conflicts and misunderstandings that arise in the field of education are caused by this fact; namely, the lack of realization that the schools exist primarily for the benefit of the child, not for the personnel. Also, let us not forget that a school can never be better than its community. It can be as good or worse than the community, but never better. I am happy and grateful in extending sincere greetings to the members of the school district of Buffalo. May your efforts at all times be successful in advancing the educa- tional opportunities of your children - your most prized possessions. Here Floyd installs rings on a piston. When Pat isn't working, she is trying to get work out of someone else. How can you re- fuse when she smiles, too? Victor knows the insides of many engines. Here he replaces the oil pump cover on one of his overhaul jobs. Lorin spends a lot of his time studying. Here Lorin keeps up with new developments in Science. The Annual Staff wishes to thank all those who gave us pictures for use in the Buffalo. Each picture helps to make our yearbook more complete and representative of our community. Sc mi MR. E. Considering our shortage of players, the Bisons did a fine job of representing our school this year. Donny was with us only a short time after the tournament, so we played with five men all year long. Of these, only Floyd and Vic- tor had any previous experience in high school basketball. Although the boys lost all of their games, they won the respect of all their opponents for their courage and good sportsmanship. They didn't let down just because they were behind in the games. Floyd Biehl took scoring honors in District 9. Victor and Floyd were our best playmakers. Chuck, Lorin, and Arnold showed rapid improvement during the year. PEP CLUB: Cheerleaders - Pat, JoAnne, and Sharon. STANDING: Ralph Wetzel, Ed Askins, Everett Wilber, Kenneth Biehl, Pauline Philpott, John Dover, Raymond McKinlay, and Marjorie Griffith. CHEERLEADERS: Pat Fairbanks, JoAnne Wetzel, Sharon Griffith. Sharon attended only during the first semester. STAND ING: Don Wiitala, Everett Wilber, John Earl Dover, Raymond McKinlay, Kenneth Biehl, and Fred Woeppel, Coach. Buffalo Hi has a bright future in basketball if the Jun- ior Hi team continues to improve as they did during the past season. With only eight boys, two of them 6th graders, the team won half of their games against teams with much more manpower. Wilber, Biehl, and Wetzel were the most constant performers and playmakers. John Earl Dover showed the greatest improvement during the season. Junior Hi cheerleaders Pauline Philpott and Marjorie •Griffith were on hand at every game to lead the pep club in cheering for the boys.
