You We coped, adjusted, and conformed, You The production of 1982 was not made of the bland hour to hour, day to day classroom studying. We didn’t just sit in a green-walled room and pound around on the three R’s. For the plain square classrooms held no secrets. The school year was produced by things found behind the scenes. av 1982 was a production of much more than we found in our textbooks. 13 You The cast of characters included familiar faces . . . The Buffalo Gals have been very active this 1981-82 year. They have performed at various parades such as S.M.S. Homecoming, Stockton's Black Walnut Festival, Cole Camp, Branson Christmas. Lebanon Christmas, and Buf- falo Football Homecoming and Christmas parades. The Gals also have performed at several football and basketball half-times. The Future Homemakers of America played a great role in the 1981- 82 school year. They worked together to improve morale and help others who were less fortunate. Some of their activities included spon- soring the Back to School Dance, and Heart Throb, selling lollipops at the Christmas parade for the March of Dimes and selling Stanley. The F.H.A.'ers also went caroling at Chastines before their Christmas party in December. They enjoyed a very successful year and are looking forward to the future with courage and high hopes. This year the dance was on September 12 with KBFL providing the music. In October the student council sponsored the Football Homecoming Dance. The theme was Keeping Bison Pride . The music was provided by the Rock 99 Music Machine. The Christmas Dance was sponsored by the student council on De- cember 19 with music from the rock band “Mirror . Dances are an important and remembered event for a lot of high school students. It's a good chance to be with friends and enjoy music and fun together. In August you could feel the excitement of the year ahead. The seniors displayed their pride by entering a float in the football festival parade and winning. More senior athletes were named to all conference teams than in years past. The seniors united to make their last year at BHS one to remem- ber. We found part of ourselves look- ing ahead to May, and the other part wanting the euphoria of our Senior year to last forever. But as May ap- proached, we found ourselves ready to accept the challenge of the World. 56 Perry Bartee Heather Bass Jana Diane Bates Robert Blair 57 Kevin W. YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU TRY, HARDER, HARDER!! The Buffalo Bisons did try harder and harder with each Friday night game. The Bisons had a three win, six loss record. The team lost twelve seniors this year, but the jun- ior leadership will be quite an asset to the '82 team next year. The game against Republic was the only game where the Bisons were totally out maneuvered. The other games were exceedingly close, or went into overtime. People seem to forget that even though the men didn’t totally dominate all of their competition, the team practiced during the summer; on Sunday after- noons; after school every night; and some early morn- ing practices. This is where the appreciation of foot- ball begins. The student body is always proud of their athletes, and we hope that they will never forget it even in the time of defeat. 94 Bison Scoreboard '81 Fairgrove 34-2 Win Ozark 27-7 Win Rogersville 20-26 Loss Eldorado 7-18 Loss Marshfield 8-13 Loss Willard 7-14 Loss Republic 7-35 Loss Bolivar 7-14 Loss Branson 17-13 Win : ©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©e BISON BLOOPERS ©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©©© First one to Coach Burr, gets to wear his alligator t-shirt!! There were some great victories and many exciting moments throughout the year, that neither players nor fans will soon forget. For the first time in 4 years the boys were above 500. which was something for them to be proud of. The seniors will be greatly missed next year, but there are some fine underclass- men to keep the Bisons team on the up-beat. David Andrews, Sophomore Joe Layland.
