It's the new kind of gum that never pops. Oops! I guess it does. Well, that wasn't quite what we had in mind. Maybe, if you turn the page, you'll get the answer to that oh so famous question: Hey, what IS an Archive, anyway? 3

WHA T IS AN ARCHIVE? In case you hadn't noticed, the theme and title of this yearbook is Archive. Archive is a strange word that isn't used very often in our everyday conversation. The next few pages will try to explain what we feel an Ar- chive is. Before we go into any detailed explanations, we thought we might show you just how many people REALLY know what an Archive is. We asked numerous bodies that were wandering the campus of BHS and here's what we heard: It's what that guy says on American Top 40. Something you cuddle and hug and kiss all over. My mother refused to tell me. Something you wouldn't take home to meet your mom. A fatal disease you get from eating vegetables. It's a new rock band. It's some kind of spice. It's like a cave only pronounced different. It's the golden arches at McDonalds. 2

AN ARCHIVE IS Mr. Daniel Webster said an archive is a place where public records, documents, etc, are kept. But, that was his opinion! Perhaps you wonder what this has to do with the Buffalo yearbook. Well . . . we'll tell you. It has everything to do with this book because it is ex- actly what its name implies. It is an archive. It is a collection of pictures, facts, and general data, all recorded for future reference. Our trained group of linguistic experts decided to add to Mr. Websters' definition.
