ART CLUB The purpose of the Buffalo High School Art Club is to serve the school and the community through the media of their artistic abilities. This year the art club was bigger than ever; consisting of 51 members. The club accomplished many things this year. The first major en- deavor of the club was the construction of a float for the football festival parade in which they received first place honors. A new tradition for the club this year was the purchasing of T-shirts. The design on the T-shirt front was by Lonnie Glor who is the club sponsor. On Octo- ber 31st, at 5 o'clock a.m., a bus load of sleeping Art Clubers left for Kansas City. While in Kansas City, they toured Hallmark Cards and the Nelson Art Gallery. Between tours was some free time in which they visited Crown Center. Art Club designed and decorated the stage for the 1979-1980 carnival entitled The Gift of the Nile Besides decorating the stage, they also decorated many people at the carnival at King Tut's Tatoo Shop. At Christmas, they painted the windows around town and at school to add holiday spirit. Future plans at time of publication include painting a graphic design in the field house lobby. Club members include. Melissa Kay, pres.; Laurie Wolfe, v. pres.; Shelly Hamlet, sec.- treas.; Sherri Mahoney, reporter, Jeff St. Clair; Doyle Sherrer; Jackie Andrews; Nicki Williams; Carol Martin; Gary Cedarlind; Meg Unman; Janet Rackley; Melinda Kay, Greg Morris; John Nelson, Polly Staples; Joyce Gilpin; Jaime Slocum; Troy Smith; Gloria Lowe, Edith Lowe, Eddie Bennett; Shannon Nelson; Tammy Powell; Barbara Pilkington; Lisa Barclay; Dewayne Williams; Cyndi Hawkins; Tami Peterson; Debt Hawkins; Linda Brown; Cathy Piper; Jeff Scowden; Jerry Arterberry, Jeana Burtin; Shannon Murphy; Mary Hatcher; Robert Tapp; Kenny Fry; Kent Pinkley, Kathy Mahoney; Joan Farrell; Christie Piper, Ron Swan, Bryan Rupe; Lance Mills; Trisha Saunders; Scott Jenson; Jesse Nelson; and Lonnie Glor, sponsor.
