In the stream of life one encounters a multitude of people, each different in his own way. You are one of these people, striving for identity and a place in society. In a way, each of you is a stream in himself. Each stream has its own particular color, depending on where it comes from, its temper, whether rough on top and calm underneath, or turbulent underneath and calm on the top. Under the stream there are often rocks and smaller pebbles. These stones represent the troubles and hardships one must undergo to have a meaning in life. One must go over these barriers instead of stopping when things seem impossible. When your stream goes out to join with the ocean, that is when you’ve passed from the security of your school and teachers. You must now join the large outside world with its beauties and exciting new phases of life.

PEOPLE . . . Their faces blurred by the waves of heat drifting upward. Does heat come from bright fire consuming wood and paper, or docs it come from the bright fire within myself, the fire that is fed by my mind, my spirit, my emotions, my soul? Does this fire not distort images also? Things are sometimes changed from what they are to what 1 want them to be. In order to overcome the naivete caused by my idealism, I sometimes find myself believing the worst or the very best about all things. I encounter a fire burning within myself. 6
