Fall Carnival 9 l 53 2 , ' Q w e ' L.: X XLS ' x On November 18, 1950, it appeared to be a busy day throughoutthe school building with the high school and the faculty members hurrying around to get prepared for the first attempt of an All-School Carnival. Finally after a hard days work these were the results: Downstairs the cafeteria was decorated tothe theme of HThe Gypsy Tea Room' and the girls were serv- ing lunches to the large crowd which came that night. Then upstairs the main events were going on. In a side room was the NBlue Roomu which had the gypsy and her crystal ball. In the gym was the Souvenir shop, and its de- tested confetti, the art room, basketball throw and the dart game. The carnival was also kept going by the cake walk, telegram booth and votes for the queen. At last the evening was drawn to a close by the crowning ofthe Carnival Queen. Candidates chosen from seventh to twelfth grades were: Priscilla Miller, Margaret Murray, Shirley Hauskins, JoAnn Brue, Carmen Stowe, and Delores Albers. Junior - Senior Banquet The juniors did a splendid job of satisfying the seniors on Saturday evening, May 19, by favoring them with a beautifully decorated Junior- Senior Banquet at the school house. Everyone dressed up in their formals and best suits entered the stage on a walk and found a scene representing a street cafe scene at the Mardi Gras in old New Orleans. It was a gay place with all the bright colors made with crepe pap- er and many balloons. On each of the small decorated tables was a lighted can- dle and each table was set up so as to represent some of the famous old cafes of that colorful city. They were served a very delicious meal of surprise punch, baked ham, parslied new potatoes, green beans, confetti salad, strawberry delight, relish plate, rolls, and coffee. The program was given as follows: welcome . . . . . . . . . . Beulah Folkerts Response. . . . .'. . . . . Bruce Hill Instrumental Music. . . . Don Miller and Gerald Steen Talk ........ . . M .
