Men ' s Dormitory Council The Men ' s Dormitory Council is composed of the elected officers and the student counselors. It is the responsibility of these men to co-operate with the ad- ministration and the student council in handling problems of discipline and personal adjustment of the men living in the dormitory. This council strives to promote friendship and unity among the residents and to maintain high standards in student life. The Men ' s Dorm participates in many activities on campus such as taking an active part in the Lebras Fair which was held in the spring. The dorm director for the year was Mrs. Carrie Baker. Swope Hall Council Officers President Carol Coburn Vice-President Rosemary Shaw Secretary Jane Wilbur Treasurer JoAnn Crary Historian Carla Jo Davis Resident Director Miss Effie Montgomery The Swope Hall Council is composed of an elected representative from each suite plus the dormitory president. This board handles, with the aid of the deans, problems of discipline and adjustment among the girls who live in Swope Hall. It is the purpose of this organization to promote friendship and unity, to share in the responsibilities of group living, and to maintain high standards in student life. A number of social events were held throughout the year. A very successful open house was held October 26, after the Homecoming Game. November 6 marked the date of the Big and Little Sister Banquet. On December 9 the annual Yule Log Service was held in the Swope Hall Lounge. Spring events included operating the food stand for the LEBRAS Fair and a farewell party given in honor of graduating Swope Hall girls.
