Interact Enjoys Profitable Year The Diabetes Foundation benefited greatly from the diligent efforts of the 1979-80 Interact Club. Although they had recruiting problems, they managed to enlist a few new members. Through the year, they raised funds to give to charity by organizing a Silverado booth and holding a Bean-in-the-Jar contest. Led by President Larry Wheaton, Vice President Alana Peliquen, Secre- tary Linda Franklin, Treasurer Rhonda Jenkins, and Historian Jill Holt, the In- teract Club had a successful year. I feel we ' re closer together than most clubs, stated Vice President Alana Peliquen. Everyone gets along well with all the others and they ' re all hard-working. We had a sensational group this year, added Advisor Mr. Saul Schacter. They raised and contributed quite a bit. It was a sensational year!

Academic Club Gives Service A Service to the community was the goal that the California Scholastic Federation (CSF) established for themselves. Motivation was the key ingredient that made this year a meaningful one. A booth at the annual Silverado Days, held October 17-21, 1979 started the CSF club off to a good start. A successful Christmas canned food drive brought the yule spirit into the homes of needy families around Buena Park and Fullerton. The annual 1979 Christmas dance ( December Dreams ) was spon- sored by the CSF. It was one of the most festive dances of the year. The parents and students, togeth- er, reflected over CSF ' s many accom- plishments during this memorable evening. The seniors of the group re- ceived special recognition for their academic excellence. This year, the guidance of Presi- dent Nelly Valencia, Vice-President Greg Rochford, Treasurer Dustie Isaka, Secretary Laurie Fukunaga, and Historian Darlene McLean, led the CSF to a memorable year.
