The air was filled with the stifling aroma of cafeteria makings and the sound of 1,000 new pairs of levis. The ground rumbled as freshmen stampeded to their next puzzling classes, The Big-Little Sister Party and a Welcome Back Assembly brought out new and old hellos. The pressures of society may tie a person down, but for the young, the anxieties are tossed away and the sublime is retained. There is laughter, joy, and freedom! There is that total involvement with people! Suddenly, personalities combine to create youthful togethernessg social functions produce masses of smiling faces: activity molds their being into a vase filled with charm. How precious each moment seems! Each lyric of a song at a school dance or all the applause at a play remains embedded within for future reference. The amusement of an anecdote and the hilarity of a comic lingers for an eternity. How grand to be in a world of such adolescent pleasure and see a dream of unity survive, vim :usa ' s s i s
