l Lettermen's Club As a functioning club of the school, the .Lettermen's Club is organized to promote better 'school sportsmanship and the desire to participate ,in the school athletic program. 1 The Buena High School Lettermen's Club is only two years old. The club is made up of boys who have lettered in different sports. Chess Club The Buena High Chess Club, relatively new in Buena's history, is an active and growing organiza- tion. It was organized in March with sixteen char- ter members. The aims of this group are high: to promote more chess players and to better the skills of these players. 147

The main purpose of the club is to help promote spirit at games and pep rallies. The Pep Club's projects include selling candy and donating money to the Foster Child Fund. The officers of the Pep Club are Ann Cobb, Laura Riske, Donna Grady, and Joanne Davies.

FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA The goal of the Future Homemakers of America is to teach its members to live a more useful and satisfying life. This year they have sponsored a bake sale and a p' nic.
