SECOND ROW: Tracy Ensigng Barbara Bruce: Jeanette Gorelickg Linda Womackg Janelle Christensen. The National Honor Society is composed of students selected by a represent- ative faculty committee from among those members of the sophomore, junior, and senior classes who maintained a B average during the semester preceeding their election. Other prerequisites for membership, besides scholarship, include character, leadership, and service. The Society aims at the promotion of these four qualities throughout the stu- dent body, and the maintenance of these high standards within its own ranks. Thus membership in the Society is not only an honor but a responsibility. Organization of the National Honor Society at Buena in 1959 was brought about largely through the efforts of the eight charter members, mostof whom were inducted into the Society at Tombstone. Although more than half ofthe original members have now graduated, two inductions greatly increased the membership to its present twenty-seven.
