Ken Vaughan Elected to Lead Student Council After delivering their speeches, the candidates, flanked by their campaign managers, Sharon Dunlap and Patty Rankin, respectively pose for pictures. The winning pair, vice-President Sherry Frey and President Ken Vaughn, stand beside the opposing candidates, Arlie Wood- rum and Rose Smith. Before the election assembly, the campaign crew for both sets of candidates plastered the auditorium with signs. With Miss Jan Peters' constructive criticism, candidates Ken Vaughn and Arlie Woodrum rehearse their speeches. 20

gi, Congratulating Rich Ziegler on his fine recitation of a poem concerning Ken and Sher's qualifications, is Donis, The Judge , Slaughter, who de- clared them the best candidates. The Student Council elections this year filled the students with excitement, anx- iety, and a competitive spirit. It also filled the halls of B.H.S. with hundreds of signs and the auditorium with bushels of confetti. At the election assembly, students seeking class offices and those running for Student Council representative were presented to the student body. Ken Vaughn and his run- ning mate, Sherry Frey, along with the team of Arlie Woodrum and Rose Smith delivered campaign speeches. Voting took place in the auditorium during noon hours. The hard- fought battle resulted in the election of Ken Vaughn and Sherry Frey as President and Vice-President of Bucyrus High School Student Council for 1968-69. A chorus line of Junior boys per formed for the student body. af' J The theme song for Arlie and Rose was presented by the Disraeli Gears, composed of Doug Schnabel, Terry Cross, Gary Auck, and Bill Crockett. 21
