MARION FREDERICK PETTIT-Treasurer College Prep. All good men dying, and I don't feel so good myself. SENIOIQ CLAII: HISTOIQY In September, 1940, there entered into B. H. S. a group of kids quite unaware of the things which their ,high school careers were to bring. This was the year when we had to get accustomed to the things around the building. Learning to walk on the right side of the corridor and to get to class on time when we could find the room, were a few of our numerous problems. Then after much success with our first year we went on proudly to the eighth. By this year we were old hands, to the high school life. Next came a quite important step-Freshmen. This year we organized with Mrs. Strawn as ad- visor and Ralph Hubble as president. We also had our first class party at the school. One more step up our high school ladder. The idea of being a Sophomore was quite a pleasing one to all of us. This year we chose Mrs. Carlo as advisor and John Travis as president. Our list of social events widened as the girls could now belong to G. R. and G. A. A. This year meant formal parties if one had the nerve to ask a fellow to go. Also some of our mellow-toned students were taken into the Glee Club. Next came an entirely new thrill. We were now just one step from the top-Juniors. Walking in the center entrance instead of side doors made us feel almost on an equal level with the Seniors. Now we mingled with them in clubs also. There was Boosters for our girl geniuses 173 and Senior H1-Y for the boys. As our advisor we chose Miss Hibarger and as officers: Clair Geiger, president: Holland Campbell, vice president: Vera Mead, secretary: and Norma McCorn1ick, treasurer. With the willing work of these and of the entire class our Junior-Senior Reception was a great success. Seniors at last! Now we have finally taken that final step. Our busiest but happiest year is now coming to a close. The thrill of having top place in our activities plus the front seats in the auditor- lum have added to our honor. The year has sped swiftly by with all our work to be done plus or- dering of name cards and invitations, taking of pictures, Baccalaureate and Commencement, and Junior-Senior Reception. We also gave a class play, Com-e Out ot' the Kitchen. As advisor this year we again chose Miss Hibarger and as officers: James Trautman, president: Maurice Pettit, vice president: Betty Williams, secretary: and Marion Pettit, treasurer. Now as we are leaving B. H. S. our hope is that other classes may have as good a time with their high school life as we had and that our good fortune may be lasting.
