BUCYRUS HIGH SCHOOL BAND The band this year is a high mark in the history of the organization. This is due to the splendid cooperation of the members of the-band and our most able director, Mr. J. C. Hazen. Never before has B. H. S. been represented by a band as large and as well balanced. A few of the many band jobs in which they participated were: the inauguration of Governor White, football games, Farmers! Institute, and concert programs on the square during the summer. One of the biggest event of the year, was the Northern Ohio Band Festival held on May 1-2, at Fremont. Bands from Sandusky, Norwalk, Oberlin, Elyria, Fremont, Bel- levue, Willard, Clyde, Fostoria, and Bucyrus assembled there. The members of the band are: Trumpets:-E. Hltes, H. ACkG'l'??l'Cl'7Z, W. THE GIRLS' BOOSTER CLUB The Girls' Booster club of Bucyrus high school was organized for the purpose of backing school activities and rendering assistance in every possible way. The club is composed of seven Seniorsg Barbara Ryan, presidentg Anna E. Kantzer, secretary-treasurerg Florence Kiess, Geneva Fulton, Velma Wert, Alberta Schirnmoler, and Dorothy Snavely g and four Juniors: Margaret Foltz, Con- stance Haigh, Betty McPherson, and Mary Fligor. The members are chosen for their scholastic ability and par- ticipation in school activities. Miss Mary Porter is the very able club adviser. The club took the responsibility of decorating the ath- letic field for foot ball games. They also planned a num- ber of assemblies during the school year, sold basketball and football tickets, and ushered for the Elks' minstrel. The principal social events were an early breakfast at the Country club and a Hallovve'en party at the home of Margaret Foltz. BUCYRUS HIGH' SCHOOL ORCHESTRA The orchestra, an organization of forty pieces, is extremely fortunate in having Mr. J. C. Hazen as direc- tor under whose baton, it is rapidly moving toward great- er activities. The orchestra has appeared on numerous occasions 5 at night school assembly programs, and in the Commence- ment Exercises. The greatest event of the year was the All County Orchestra for the Community Institute. Two hundred and thirty-five musicians participated in this event.
