LITERARY CLUB The school year 1930-1931 proved to be a most success- ful one for the newly-organized Literary club of Bucyrus high school. The same purpose, to promote interest in the various forms of modern and classical literature, was retained for this year. The club maintained the full quota of thirty members throughout the year, during which Elizabeth Weiss very ably served the organization as president, Aileen Philbin, vice president, and Velma Wert, secretary. Much of the success during the past year has been due to the faithful efforts of our advisers: Miss Ella Meck, Mrs. Willaman, and Mr. Havron. Our bi-monthly programs, on the second and fourth Monday evenings, were the direct results of the efforts --eg PAGE 26 lg-- of the various program committees. Our yearly program schedule was composed ofthe following themes: poetry, authors, education, ancient-medieval and modern litera- ture, short stories, nature study, traditions on Thanks- giving, and a patriotic discussion. Gther than these We enjoyed a social meeting, a meet- ing for the entertainment of our mothers, and a Literary club tea. On Friday, February 13, 1931, the members of the organization presented an assembly program which was enjoyable to all. This organization, now in its second year, is rapidly taking its place among the other prominent organizations of B. H. S. -Velma Wert, ,31
