This, our firstsocial attempt, proved to be an lover- ' uccess. . - Whehglhrei Scame vacation and again we climbed the familiar stairs, this time as Sophom-ores. It was during' this yiear that our class .began to make a name for itself. Some :of our number having lost their former bashfulness entered the athletic and debating contests and succeeded in bringing down S0l'I1e glory fer US- E Toward the close of the year we assembled several basketsful of eats and after several miles of hiking we engoyed a delicious supper picnic fashion in McMichael's Woods. . Thus' the happy days sped by and soon we adyourned to meet again in September. . The next fall we entered our duties as Juniors. At the beginning of the year we were sorry to lose our superintendent Mr. Beetham. Mr. Bordon succeeded Mr. Beetham and brought to us m.any new ideas and improvements. Those especially appreciate-d were our Manual training department, enlarged domestic science and serving departments, social rofoms, and last but not least a new system of determining examinations. ' The crowning feature' of- this year was the Junior-Senior reception held at the Parish House just before commencement. - For further information welrecommend you to the class of 1917. T-his closed the year and we regretted to lose the coveted name- Junior. K b At the close of vacation we returned again to school having reach- ed the top of the ladder bearing the name of dignified Seniors. By the process of 'substitution and elimination we were reduced in number to sixty-seven and with Owen Osborn as commander in chief we re- solved to do or die . l We were active in foot-ball, basket-ball, debate, track and tennis. h tSome of us were interested in music and helped compose the or- c es ra. Never to be forgotten was the hard times masquerade held in the social rooms. After guessing who is who , was over we enjoyed a Hooverized lunch of doughnuts and punch. ,On May 5th. We gave the Mardi Gras at the Y. M. C.
