CLASS HISTORY In September of 1956 members of the Class of ,60 met with their adviser, Miss Riley, and elect- ed Molly St. Lawrence, Betty Mann, Brentley Keene, and Charlene Snowman as class oHicers; John Chasse and Patricia F ellows as representa- tives to the Student Council; and four students to serve on the Assembly Committee. The class was very well represented in such extracurricu- lar activities as basketball, cheering, majorettes, band, chorus, and debate. Although the class was not formally initiated, we received the Uaditional teasing from the upper classmen. The following September, the class elected the same slate of oHicers and representatives to the Student Council as the preceeding year. That year we were equally well represented in extra- curricular activities. Early in November the members of the Class of i60 deviated from the regular theme of the Sophomore Cabaret and presented a most successful minstrel, the iiSoph- omore Showboatf, under the guidance and as- sistance of Mr. Christie. Upperclassmen at last, we excitedly entered our third year at B.H.S. with Mr. Livingston as adviser. That year Betty Mann John Chasse, Frederick Mercer, and George Wardwell were elected as class oHicers. Patricia Fellows and John Chasse again served as representatives to the Student Council The class fur- nished four of the varsity cheerleaders and seven members of the championship football team. Many other students participated in numerous other activities. I We received our class rings in the fall. Anothe1 first for the Class of 60 - we successfully presented our Junior Prom, TUnderwater, the last week of schooll in order that the alumni at home from college could attend. As last as seniors we returned with seventy- -six members in the class and Mrs. Prescott as adviser The first big event was the arrival of the class pictures I which were soon circulated. Special honors should be given to the senior members of the state championship football team. As usual the class was well represented' I in extracurricular activities as many seniors held important positions in the various I 1 clubs and organizations. Our four years at B. H. S. have been four wonderful years which we never shall forget. We would like to oEer our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have helped to make them successful. ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION More than thirty-hve members make up the A.A., with a few being added as every varsity sport concludes its season. Financially speaking, the A.A. has had one of its better years. A great deal of new equipment has been purchased, and the club has been able to erase much of the deficit that has been with them each year. The AA. has had no large projects other than putting on and sponsoring all athletic contests, awarding letters, operating a suc- cessful concession booth, and' enjoying a few social gatherings within its own group. One small but worthy project has been the purchase of coat racks which will be used at all activities in order to give better pro- tection and care to all coats worn by spectators. An intramural program is being re-estab- lished under the direction of the AA. With the hope of forming an extensive program OFFICERS to be carried out each year.
