farm ,Nbfory We entered Bucksport High School our freshman year with seventy six in our class. Miss Harding was our class advisor that first year. At our first class meeting we elected the following as class officers: President ------- -Walter Willins Vice President--- Jean Roi Secretary -------- Wilrna Hall Treasurer ------- Carroll Spooner 'Cahill Marilyn Gifford and Fred Chasse were our Student 6 E Council repre sentatives. ministered by the Seniors. We were all glad when that ,Y Friday was over. From that day on we looked forward to the day when we would be Seniors and could initiate the incoming Freshrnen. Robert England, William Clair, Vaughn Rogerson, and Walter Willins were on the J. V. basketball team. We were represented on the girls' basketball team by Wilrna Hall, Joanne Stubbs, and Ellen Keegan. We had two J. V. cheerleaders---Marilyn Gifford and Ellen Keegan. During our first year, we won the foul shooting contest. Our Newsbomb reporters were Nancy Jewett and Mar- jorie Tracy and our Hillcrest reporter was Joyce LeClair. Wilrna Hall, Barbara TYICY, N2-HCY Conners, Philip Wooster, Richard Lei hton and Harr Gre artici ated in the Freshman Sophomore Prize g I Y Y P P Speaking Contest. Philip Wooster won first prize for the boys. Our Sophomore year we returned to high school with seventy-three class mates. Miss Harding was again our advisor. The first piece of business we attended to was the election of our class officers, They were: President ---------- William Clair Vice President ----- Nancy Jewett Secretary ---------- Ellen Keegan Treasurer --------- Dawn Willette Our Student Council representatives were Marilyn Gifford, Tresurer and Marjorie Tracy, and Robert England. 2 The highlight of this year was the Sophomore Cabaret. It was entitled Garden In the Rain . , X Many people attended and were entertained by talent from the Sophomore class. Everyone en- joyed himself. Ellen Keegan, Marilyn Gifford, Joyce LeClair, Nancy Jewett, Maddy Cole, Joan Mitchell, and Philip Davis represented us in the A. A, Bobby England made the Varsity basketball team while Billy Grunwald, Willie Clair, Tommy Hartford, and Philip Davis were on the J. V. team. Nancy Jewett, Joyce LeClair, Ellen Keegan, Joan Mitchell, Joanne Stubbs, Marilyn Gifford, and Wilrna Hall, and Shirley Ginn played on the Girls' Basketball team. Marilyn Gifford was promoted to varsity cheerleader and Ellen Keegan was a J. V. cheer- leader. Our class reporters on the Newsbomb staff were again Nancy Jewett and Marjorie Tracy and Joyce LeClair our Hillcrest reporter. Nancy Conners, Wilma Hall, and Beverly Bunker participated in Freshman Sophomore Prize Speaking. Qur Sophomore year we were well represented in the annual three-act play by Tommy Crocker, Jackie Pooler, Nancy Jewett, Fred Chasse, Joyce LeClair, Marilyn Gifford, Ellen Keegan, and Marjorie Tracy. Beverly Bunker and Marjorie Tracy took part in the annual State one-act Play- In 1952 we entered Bucksport High School as juniors. At our first class meeting, we elected the following officers: President ------- Robert England Vice President-- Brian Tweedie Secretary ------- Helen Conners Treasurer ------ Joanne Brown As guidance advisor to our class of sixty nine, we had Mr. Bunker. This year we were represented in the Student Council by Marjorie Tracy - secretary, Nancy Jewett - Treasurer, Jean Violette, and William Clair. At last! We were to order our class rings. After a lengthy discussion we decided on Loren H Murchison. They arrived soon after Christmas Everyone enjoyed hirnself very much at the annual Junior Prom. We had the novel idea of naming it the Blue Moon formal. We elected Jean Violette, Queen and William Clair, King. The crew under the guidance of Mr. Bunker, worked enthusiastically for several evenings in preparation. In the spring five members were initiated ' into the National Honor Society, They were l Beverly Bunker, Wilma Hall, Ellen Keegan, Nancy Jewett, and Marjorie Tracy. ' 30
