DR. MARK C. IQBERSOLIG was appointed last June to the newly-created post of Vice President for Academic Affairs. In this capacity, he is the general administ1'ator of the Uni- Verslll' 9-Cflflemic program. As chief academic olhcer at Bucknell, Dr. Ebersole is responsible for the direction of academic programs in the three colleges, and he also directs the graduate program, Alter joining the faculty in 1953, Dr. Ehersolc held 2':T1'l0us teaching positions until 1955 when he was appointed 1313121111 of the University. While serving as chairman of lhe religion department in 1961, he was appointed Assistant Dean ol' the University. In that year, Dr. Ebersole was iltvarded the Class ol 1.956 Endowed Lectureship in recog- 11111011 ol his inspirational teaching. Before assuming his Present position, Dr. Ebersole served as the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. MR- .10IIN 17. ZIQLLIQR serves as vice president in charge Of. the business and financial concerns of Bucknell, an ad- ministrative olhcc he has held for the last six years. lVlr. ieller is the chief budget ofhcer of the University. Also, e supervises the book store, dining halls, the Bison, and the f00Cl serviceg he is the assistant secretary of the Board Of Trustees, and he works with reports received from the purchasing agent, A Bucknell graduate, lVlr. Zeller obtained degrees from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Bucknell's graduate school. During the Second World War he served with the army in Italy. When he returned to Lewisburg, lee renewed his law practice and taught political science at ucknell as a part-time professor. After returning from the Korean War, he served as assistant to the President until aPPUiIllCd to his present position. DR- WICST.lEY N. HAINES, Vice President in charge of DeYel0l9ment, has heen serving Bucknell since 1957. Dr. Haines correlates the administrative aspects of university life .which include alumni relations, puhlic relations, fund raising, and hroad university planning. The Dual Develop- fnent Campaign of 1959-1960 was supervised by Dr. Haines. Vljii highly Successful drive has enabled the Bucknell ad- ministration to proceed with a ten-year plan to expand the Physical plant as well as increase scholarship capacity. Dr. Haines calls himself a broker between past and futuref, Hs Pffljects resources from the past into future plans and Present reality. t Dr. Haines, a New Englander, attended Brown Univer- S'lY where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He was Ordained a minister at Colgate-Rochester Divinity School and received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Harvard. Be- f9l'f! coming to Bucknell, Dr. Haines served as presidential assistant at Keuka College in New York State.
